The Lakes and Water ways Development Authority has jurisdiction on Dal and Nageen Lake. The Dal-Nageen Lake Conservation and Management Programme have two components viz.

(i)           Conservation and Management and

(ii)          Rehabilitation and Resettlement of Dal dwellers.

     The authority is to promote and to secure the development of local area and conservation of Dal Lake, Anchaar Lake and Nigeen Lake for which it is constituted according to plan and dispose off land and other properties, carrying out building, engineering and other operations, execute work in connection of supply water and electricity.
