With the persistent persuasion, the GOI has allowed both the
cities of Srinagar and Jammu to participate in the All India
Competition of the Smart City challenge process Stage-2. M/s
Voyants Solutions Limited, a MoUD empanelled National level
consultancy Services was engaged for preparation of proposals
for Smart City Challenge II by the State with active
participation of public through different on/offline mode as
well as line departments. The proposals of both the capital
cities of Jammu & Srinagar have been submitted to the Ministry
of Urban Development, GoI for participation in Smart City
Challenge-II (Round III) in last week of March, 2017.
Both the capital cities of State i.e. Jammu and Srinagar have
been sanctioned in All India competition of Smart City Mission
by GOI MoUD. State has already constituted two Committees
viz. State Level Advisory Committee and Special Purposes
Vehicles (SPVs) for implementation of Smart City Development
Projects under Smart City Mission.
